1. Inclusion is verified by hand

Candidates come from Google results for GEO buying terms, agency directories (DesignRush, Semrush Agency Partners, Rank Prompt's city lists), and the roundup articles that already rank. Each candidate's website is crawled for the page where it sells the service, and a person reads that page. We drop software tools, freelance consultants, agencies with only a blog post on the topic, job boards, and anything that is not an agency (one candidate that ranks first for "geo agency new york" turned out to be a creative studio named G.E.O.). Of 385 candidate domains read for the first edition, 246 were kept.

Each kept agency gets: the service page URL, the services it tags (GEO, AEO, AI SEO, LLM optimisation and so on), the AI platforms it names, headquarters and founding year where stated, and a one-line description written by us.

2. The visibility panel

We run 61 queries through Google, with the searcher location set to the United Kingdom (22 queries), the United States (25) and Singapore (14), and record the top 20 organic results for each. The queries are the terms buyers actually type: service terms ("geo agency", "ai seo services", "aeo agency"), directory terms ("best geo agencies"), and the few local terms with real volume ("ai seo agency london", "geo agency singapore"). The panel is versioned and never edited between runs, because changing a query changes every score.

Score

score(agency, market) = Σ max(0, 21 − position) over every panel query in that market where the agency's own domain is in the top 20. Position 1 is worth 20 points, position 20 is worth 1. The global score is the sum over the three markets. "Terms ranked" counts the queries where the domain appeared at all.

Only the agency's own domain counts. A guest post on another site, a directory listing or a Reddit thread that mentions the agency does not. Subdomains count as the agency (so digitalmarketing.example.com is credited to example.com).

What the score is not

It is not a quality rating, a client-results score or a size proxy. It answers one question: has this agency made itself visible for the terms people use to find agencies like it? 131 of 246 agencies (53%) score above zero at the 2026-09-23 run. The rest are listed alphabetically, unranked.

3. Refresh cadence and quality gates

4. The panel queries

United Kingdom (gl=uk, 22 queries)

United States (gl=us, 25 queries)

Singapore (gl=sg, 14 queries)

5. Independence

GEO Agency Directory is not an agency and does not sell GEO services. Listings are free and no position can be bought. Agencies can claim a listing to correct facts; claims never change a score. Buyer briefs submitted through this site are matched by hand and forwarded to agencies in the directory that fit them.

Data is compiled from public web pages and Google results and is provided as-is. To reuse the panel results, cite GEO Agency Directory and link to this page. Questions and corrections: hello@geoagencydirectory.com.
